Millennium Games

Sunday 28th August

12:30pm to around 7pm (ish!)


Teams of 12 go head-to-head in a bid to be crowned the winners of the games 2022

The games will take place on Lumb Millenium Green, Peers Clough Road BB4 9PP with 'doors open' from 12:30pm with the main contest being held from 1:30pm to 4pm,


Each team will select team members to compete head to head in:

  • Sack Race Relay
  • Dizzy Pole Relay
  • Egg and Spoon Race Relay
  • Horse Shoe Lasso
  • 3-Legged Race Relay
  • Welly Wanging
  • Tractor Tyre flipping
  • Problem Solving
  • Tug of War


Entertainment throughout the day includes:

  • Comparing by Rossendale Radio DJ, Peter Sweetmore
  • Rossendale Ukulele Club
  • Water Band
  • Face Painting
  • Childrens Tea-cup Rides
  • Hook-a-duck
  • A chance for children to get involved in the games
  • Stalls and community group pop-ups
  • Hog Roast
  • Hot Dogs
  • Cold and Hot Drinks
  • Beer tent (subject to agreement by council)
  • Brittania Coconutters (subject to availability)



Enjoy the games and get to know a little bit more about social groups happening around Rossendale.


£5 per person to enter into the games

Entry is £1 per person (Children 3 and under are free)

All proceeds will be split between preventing suicide in Rossendale through the work that we do at WaterWell Foundation, and towards the Lumb Millennium Green trust to renovate and maintain the Millennium Green.

The Volunteers of the WaterWell Foundation  work hard everyday to help people find their happy in a bid to build community resilience and to prevent suicide in Rossendale and would like to thank you for joining in with events to help raise funds.


The Lumb Millennium Green is maintained by the LMG Trust with very few volunteers now helping, this event is aimed at increasing the volunteer pool to provide the local community with an amazing open space to enjoy for many years to come
